Matthews Buses first approached us at VocalPoint Consulting when they were trying to get a handle on their telecom spend. As a successful business, they have multiple locations throughout New York, The Carolinas, and Florida. Unfortunately, after years of operation the variety of tacked on telecom services and fees had created a lot of confusion within their staff. Employees were having trouble discerning which services were in use and which were not which was affecting daily operations.
We gathered all of the telecom bills and began a thorough spend analysis. We found that the client had multiple carriers and several services including a wide area network, Voice PRI’s, Cable, and Analog Lines. After further investigation with the carriers, we discovered many lines that were not even in use or were disconnected, yet the client was still being billed for these services. Finally, when compared with other businesses using the same services, we saw the client was being billed at a higher rate than necessary.
In the end, VPC helped Matthew’s Buses eliminate several carrier services that were not in use and install a new wide area network. The total yearly savings amounts to almost $22,000.
